HISTORY :
it's the smallest of the group, 3.4 kmq, and the geological
eldest; the isle is on the top of a magma basin that
still feeds fumaroles and thermal springs. It was called
Eu nymos (the isle of the good temper), and then Hycesia.
There are many interesting little satellite isles
aroud it: Dattilo, Basiluzzo, Bottaro, Spinazzola etc.
It's 40 miles to Milazzo.
You can also find a prehistorical site, in Capo Milazzese,
dated the middle bronze era. |
